This is UMaine Today on air, the source for news and events at your state university. I'm Elysa Woodhead.
Band music, opera and even some Christmas music. The School of Performing Arts has a jam-packed week on tap with 5 big events.
The week begins with Brass night at Minsky Recital Hall Tuesday at 7:30. Thursday, the Symphonic Band combines with the Bangor High School band for a performance at Peakes Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
Friday back on campus bring the opera workshop. Saturday its a violin recital with Anatole Wieck. Then Sunday in Hauck Auditorium comes the always popular Yuletide Celebration with the combined voices of many UMaine vocal groups.
Men's Basketball has 2 home games lined up with UMaine Presque Isle and Colgate coming to the Alfond. The women host Robert Morris Wednesday.
Women's Hockey is home as well hosting Providence Friday and Saturday
